Here are the general lot size preferences we use on our accounts:

It is not wise to run this bot on an account lower than $5k. If you decide to do so, it would be very wise to use lower lot sizes and less currency pairs.

If you are running an account with a balance of less than $20k, we do not recommend running any of the JPY or CHF pairs. If you do, you’ll be more likely to experience some sort of high drawdown as a result at some point. Those pairs are known to be more volatile and swing in price.

If you are above $20k and wish to run JPY/CHF pairs, we recommend using ½ the recommended lot size for those pairs to avoid the risk of high drawdown.

$5,000 – $10,000 account size 0.01 lot size

$10,000 – $20,000 account size 0.02 lot size

$20,000 – $30,000 account size 0.03 lot size

$30,000 – $40,000 account size 0.04 lot size

$40,000 – $50,000 account size 0.05 lot size

$50,000 -$60,000 account size 0.06 lot size

$60,000 – $70,000 account size 0.07 lot size

$70,000 – $80,000 account size 0.08 lot size

$80,000 – $90,000 account size 0.09 lot size

$90,000 – $100,000 account size 0.1 lot size

$100,000 – $110,000 account size 0.11 lot size

Automatic Lot size based on balance is included with the latest version of HFA 1.1 or higher.

For any account with a larger size, simply divide the account balance by 1,000,000. So if it is a $400,000 account the equation would be: 400,000/1,000,000 = 0.4 lot.

The above lot sizes can be increased or decreased based on your risk tolerance. The higher you make the lot size the greater the risk you have of blowing up the account. The above ranges are considered an “average” risk tolerance setting.
